Differential Pressure Transmitters
Differential pressure transmitters for air, gas and liquid applications from Produal, Beck and Halstrup-Walcher.
A differential pressure transmitter measures the difference between two pressures, which tells you how dirty a filter is, how much air a fan moves, whether a clean room holds its pressure and how hard a pump is working. This page covers our DP range from Produal, Beck and Halstrup-Walcher; browse by medium on the air or liquid pages.

Differential Pressure Transmitters Guide
How a differential pressure transmitter works
The transmitter senses pressure at two ports and outputs a signal proportional to the difference between them, rather than either pressure alone. That single number tells you how blocked a filter is, how much air or liquid is flowing, or whether a room is holding its pressure relative to a corridor. Ranges run from a few pascals for clean rooms up to several bar for liquid circuits, so the sensor and its zero stability have to match the application.
Choosing a differential pressure transmitter by medium
- Air and gas, HVAC or clean room: the Produal DPT series, including the high-accuracy DPT-Priima at ±0.4% ±0.4 Pa, and Modbus models for BMS integration; see air differential pressure transmitters.
- Air and gas, industrial: Beck 982R, 984, 985 and 990 with selectable ranges and 0 to 10 V or 4 to 20 mA outputs, also on the air page.
- Precise low ranges: Halstrup-Walcher P 26, P 34 and PU/PI, from 10 Pa, also on the air page.
- Water and other liquids: the Beck 988, 0 to 2 bar up to 0 to 10 bar; see liquid differential pressure transmitters.
- Process flow and level: the Trumen TFDP-70 smart DP transmitter, ±0.075% FS, on the air page alongside the industrial models.
What to specify
Give us the following and we'll confirm the right model:
- Pressure range: in pascals, mbar or bar.
- Medium: what the transmitter will see.
- Output: analogue or Modbus.
- Display: whether one is required.
- Hazardous area: if it applies, see our flameproof differential pressure transmitters in the ATEX & Flameproof category.
FAQ
Common questions
What is a differential pressure transmitter used for?
It measures the difference between two pressures rather than either one alone, which shows filter blockage, fan or duct airflow, clean room pressurisation, pump load and flow through a heat exchanger. The right model depends mainly on the medium, air, gas or liquid, and the range you need.
Should I choose an analogue output or Modbus?
Analogue 0 to 10 V or 4 to 20 mA suits most controllers and is the simplest to wire. Modbus RTU, available on several Produal and Beck models, carries more data over a shared cable and suits BMS integration where you're already running a Modbus network.
What accuracy do clean room differential pressure transmitters need?
Clean room pressure differences are often only 10 to 15 Pa, so accuracy matters more than range. The Produal DPT-Priima gives ±0.4% ±0.4 Pa, which keeps small pressure cascades stable and repeatable between rooms and corridors.
Which differential pressure transmitter suits very low ranges?
The Halstrup-Walcher P 26, P 34 and PU/PI cover precise ranges from 10 Pa, suited to clean rooms and draft applications. For draft on furnaces, boilers and kilns specifically, see our dedicated draft pressure transmitters, built for the same low spans.
Do you have differential pressure transmitters for hazardous areas?
Yes. Flameproof differential pressure transmitters for Ex d hazardous areas are listed in our ATEX & Flameproof category. The Beck 930 Ex differential pressure switch, adjustable from 20 to 5000 Pa for zones 1, 2, 21 and 22, is listed under differential pressure switches.
