The Höntzsch Ultrasonic UA Liquids series (featuring the ExactSonic III) is a high-performance portable ultrasonic flow meter designed for non-invasive flow rate and volume measurement of liquids in closed piping systems. Operating on the transit time difference method, the system utilizes clamp-on ultrasonic sensors that attach directly to the outside of pipes, allowing for immediate measurement without any process interruption, line shut-downs, or risk of leakage. Acoustic signals are transmitted through the medium alternately in and against the direction of flow, evaluating the transit time difference to calculate accurate bi-directional flow velocities down to 0.2 m/s.

Because the sensors do not contact the medium, the measurement remains completely independent of process pressure, temperature, fluid conductivity, and viscosity, causing zero pressure drop or risk of clogging. Equipped with an internal high-capacity data logger and a pre-programmed library of pipe materials and liquid mediums, the meter covers a wide range of common industrial applications with just two transducer sets. This setup provides a highly economical and flexible solution for temporary measurements, plant commissioning, routine maintenance audits, leak detection, and calibration validation across diverse industrial networks.
