Differential Pressure & Flow Controller
Regulate room, duct and fan pressure with the Beck 990 differential pressure and flow controller.
A differential pressure controller gives the DP signal a control loop needs to hold a room, duct or fan at a set pressure or airflow, with a local display for commissioning. The Beck 990 gives one adjustable range, a 0 to 10 V or 4 to 20 mA output and a response time from 0.1 to 20 s.

Differential Pressure & Flow Controller Guide
How a differential pressure controller works
The Beck 990 measures the pressure difference between two points, such as a room and a corridor or the two sides of a fan, and outputs a proportional signal that a control loop uses to drive a damper or fan speed. The local display lets a technician see the same value on site while commissioning or troubleshooting the loop.
How to choose a differential pressure controller
- Range: the 990 has one adjustable pressure range for overpressure, vacuum or differential of air and non-aggressive gases; confirm your span before ordering.
- Output: switchable in the menu between 0 to 10 V and 4 to 20 mA, to match your controller input.
- Response time: adjustable from 0.1 to 20 s, so a fast-changing signal can be smoothed before it reaches the loop.
- Zero recalibration: the 990M version lets you recalibrate the output to zero on site.
- Power supply: 18 to 30 VAC/VDC, which covers most panel and DIN-rail supplies.
For a dedicated fan or VAV controller, see the Produal DPT-Ctrl and DPT-Ctrl-MOD on this page, also listed in air differential pressure transmitters. For a display-only gauge with no control output, see differential pressure gauges.
FAQ
Common questions
How does a differential pressure controller differ from a DP transmitter?
A DP transmitter only reports the pressure value. A differential pressure controller, such as the Beck 990, adds a local display and an adjustable response time so it can feed a control loop directly while still letting a technician read the value on site during commissioning.
Why is the response time on the Beck 990 adjustable?
Room, duct and fan pressures fluctuate constantly. Setting a longer response time, up to 20 s, smooths the signal so the control loop doesn't hunt or chatter. A shorter time, down to 0.1 s, suits applications that need a fast-reacting signal.
Which output does the Beck 990 controller give?
It's switchable in the menu between 0 to 10 V and 4 to 20 mA, so you can match it to your control loop's existing input without changing wiring. The 990M version also lets you recalibrate the output to zero on site.
Can the Beck 990 control room pressure in a clean room?
Yes. It's commonly used to hold clean room, lab and isolation room pressure at a set point, and to control duct static pressure for fans, giving both the control signal and a local display for verification.
What power supply does the differential pressure controller need?
The Beck 990 runs on 18 to 30 VAC or VDC, which covers most building automation panel and DIN-rail supplies. Confirm your available supply when ordering so the correct terminal configuration is supplied.
