Digital Electronic Pressure Switch

Read pressure locally and switch outputs with the Pixsys DST400 electronic pressure switch.

View Products

An electronic pressure switch combines a pressure transmitter, a local display and switching outputs in one device, so you can read the pressure on site, send it to a PLC and trip alarms at set points. The Pixsys DST400 covers 0 to 1 bar up to 0 to 400 bar, with two PNP switching outputs and IP65 protection.

Digital Electronic Pressure Switch Guide

What a digital electronic pressure switch is used for

The DST400 replaces a separate gauge and mechanical switch with one instrument: a pressure sensor, a rotatable digital display and two independently adjustable PNP outputs, plus an analogue retransmission of the value. That suits hydraulic systems, compressors, pumps and machine tools where an operator needs to see the pressure and the PLC needs both a signal and switch points.

How to choose an electronic pressure switch

  • Range: the DST400 covers 0 to 1 bar up to 0 to 400 bar, with the switch points adjustable from 50 to 100% of full scale.
  • Sensor type: a ceramic thick-film cell up to 100 bar, thin film on steel above 100 bar.
  • Outputs: two PNP switching outputs for alarms or pump start/stop, plus an analogue retransmission signal for the PLC.
  • Mounting: the display and electrical connector rotate independently, so it reads correctly whatever the mounting position.
  • Environment: IP65 protection, 15 to 30 VDC supply, -25 to +85 °C operating range.

For a mechanical switch with no display or analogue signal, see pressure switches.

FAQ

Common questions

What does an electronic pressure switch add over a mechanical one?

It shows the actual pressure on a digital display, not just an on/off state, and gives two independently adjustable switch points plus an analogue signal for the PLC, all from one sensor. That replaces a separate gauge and mechanical switch with a single connection point.

What pressure range does the Pixsys DST400 cover?

It covers 0 to 1 bar up to 0 to 400 bar, with the switch points adjustable from 50 to 100% of full scale. Tell us your working pressure and we'll confirm the right range so the switch points fall within a useful part of the span.

Can the DST400 be mounted in any orientation?

Yes. Its display and electrical connector rotate independently of each other, so whichever way the body is mounted on the process connection, you can still turn the display and connector to read and wire it correctly.

How many switching outputs does the electronic pressure switch have?

Two, both PNP type, each independently adjustable. They can be used together, for example a low alarm and a high alarm, or one for an alarm and the other to start or stop a pump.

What operating conditions can the DST400 handle?

It's rated IP65, runs on a 15 to 30 VDC supply, and operates from -25 to +85 °C, which covers most compressor, hydraulic and outdoor pump installations. Above 100 bar, the sensor changes from ceramic thick-film to thin film on steel.
