Gas Pressure Switch
Monitor gas pressure on burners and gas trains with the Beck 901 Prescal® gas pressure switch.
A gas pressure switch trips the burner control if gas supply pressure falls too low or rises too high, before or during firing. The Beck 901 Prescal® for gas covers city gas, natural gas and LPG (gas families 1, 2 and 3) from 5 to 500 mbar, set on a scaled knob without a pressure gauge.

Gas Pressure Switch Guide
How a gas pressure switch works
The switch sits in the gas train and monitors supply pressure through a diaphragm and spring, the same principle as a standard pressure switch, but built and rated for gas families 1, 2 and 3. If pressure drops or spikes outside the set limits, it trips the burner control, stopping ignition or firing until pressure is back in range, which protects against flame lift, flashback and incomplete combustion.
How to choose a gas pressure switch
- Gas type: the Beck 901 Prescal® for gas covers combustible gases of families 1 (city gas), 2 (natural gas) and 3 (LPG).
- Range: switching ranges cover 5 to 500 mbar across the model range; send us your supply and burner pressures and we'll recommend the model.
- Setting: a scaled knob sets the trip and reset pressure without a separate pressure gauge.
- Temperature: rated for ambient and media temperatures of 0 to +80 °C.
- Accuracy: switching deviation and drift stay within ±15% of the switching pressure.
- Protection: IP44, IP54 or IP65, depending on the protection cap fitted.

FAQ
Common questions
Which gases can the Beck 901 gas pressure switch be used with?
Gas families 1, 2 and 3: city gas, natural gas and LPG. It's designed and rated specifically for combustible gases, so it shouldn't be substituted with a standard air or liquid pressure switch on a gas train.
What range do I need for a burner gas train pressure switch?
It depends on your supply and burner pressures. The Beck 901 Prescal® for gas covers switching ranges from 5 to 500 mbar across the model range. Send us the normal and minimum gas train pressures and we'll recommend the right model.
How do I set the trip pressure on the gas pressure switch?
Turn the scaled Prescal® knob to your required trip point; no separate pressure gauge is needed. Switching deviation and drift stay within ±15% of that setting, so recheck it periodically as part of burner maintenance.
Can I fit a standard pressure switch on a gas train instead?
No. Use the dedicated gas version, rated for combustible gas families 1, 2 and 3, with media and ambient temperature limits of 0 to +80 °C. A standard air or liquid switch isn't built or approved for that duty.
What protection rating does the gas pressure switch have?
IP44, IP54 or IP65, depending on the protection cap fitted, so you can match it to an indoor panel or a more exposed boiler house or plant room location.
