Portable Low Pressure Controller
Calibrate low-range pressure and DP instruments on site with Halstrup-Walcher KAL calibrators.
A pressure calibrator generates a test pressure and measures it precisely, so you can check and adjust a low-range pressure or DP instrument on site instead of sending it away. The Halstrup-Walcher KAL 84, KAL 100 and KAL 200 cover accuracies from ±0.2% FS down to ±0.1% FS for ranges above 200 Pa, for mobile and stationary use.

What a pressure calibrator is used for
Low-range pressure instruments drift over time, and a calibrator lets you find and correct that drift on site, without removing the instrument and sending it away for a bench check. Unlike a manometer, which only measures, a KAL calibrator has its own built-in pressure generator, so it can check a differential pressure transmitter, switch, room pressure monitor or draft gauge at several points across its range without an external pump or test rig.
How to choose a pressure calibrator
- Accuracy: the KAL 200 gives the highest accuracy, ±0.1% FS for ranges above 200 Pa; the KAL 100 gives ±0.2% FS for the same range band; the KAL 84 is the portable, mobile-use model, also ±0.2% FS.
- Use case: the KAL 84 suits field technicians moving between sites; the KAL 100 and KAL 200 suit both stationary bench use and mobile calibration work.
- What it can check: differential pressure transmitters and switches, room and clean room pressure monitors, manometers and draft gauges.
- Documentation: a calibration certificate can be supplied with the device on request, useful for audit trails on regulated processes.
For a measure-only tool to spot-check pressures without generating them, see digital portable manometers.
FAQ
Common questions
Does a KAL calibrator replace sending an instrument away for bench checks?
In most cases, yes. Because it generates the test pressure itself as well as measuring it, a KAL calibrator lets you check and adjust a differential pressure transmitter, switch or gauge at several points on site, without removing it from service and losing it to a lab for days at a time.
Which KAL pressure calibrator is the most accurate?
The KAL 200, at ±0.1% FS for ranges above 200 Pa. The KAL 84 and KAL 100 both give ±0.2% FS in the same range band, with the KAL 84 built specifically for mobile, field use.
Can I get a calibration certificate with the KAL calibrator?
Yes, a calibration certificate can be supplied with the device on request, which helps with audit trails on regulated or quality-controlled processes that need traceable pressure checks.
What instruments can a KAL calibrator check?
Differential pressure transmitters and switches, room and clean room pressure monitors, and manometers and draft gauges. It suits any low-range pressure instrument that needs periodic verification or adjustment on site.
Is the KAL 84 suitable for bench use, or only in the field?
The KAL 84 is built as a portable calibrator for mobile use, so it works well in the field. If you mainly calibrate on a bench, the KAL 100 or KAL 200 are built for stationary as well as mobile use, with higher accuracy.
