Power Monitoring & Electrical Measurement

Measure energy, power quality and AC/DC current with Pixsys three-phase network analyzers and Hall-effect current transducers.

View Products

Power monitoring shows where a plant's energy goes: which feeder, machine or panel draws the current, how clean the supply is, and what each kWh costs. We supply Pixsys three-phase network analyzers for energy and power-quality metering, and Hall-effect current transducers that turn AC or DC current into a 0–10 V, 4–20 mA or Modbus signal for a PLC.

Power Monitoring & Electrical Measurement Guide

Network analyzer or current transducer?

  • Three-phase network analyzer: measures voltage, current, power, energy, power factor and harmonics on a three-phase supply, and logs or publishes them over Modbus, Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Use it for energy metering and power-quality checks on a feeder or main panel.
  • Current transducer: measures the current in one conductor, AC or DC, and outputs it as an analogue or Modbus signal. Use it to watch a single load, such as a motor, heater, battery bank, charger or solar string, from a PLC.

What to check before ordering

  • Supply type: three-phase AC for a network analyzer; AC, DC or bipolar DC for a current transducer.
  • Current range and conductor size: the transducer's through-hole must fit the cable.
  • Output: Modbus RTU/TCP, MQTT, 0–10 V or loop-powered 4–20 mA, to match your PLC or SCADA.
  • Accuracy class needed for billing-grade or check metering.

FAQ

Common questions

What is the difference between a network analyzer and an energy meter?

An energy meter mainly counts kWh. A network analyzer such as the Pixsys PTA-M-3PH-050-ET also measures voltage, current, power factor, neutral current and harmonics up to the 63rd, so it shows power quality as well as consumption.

Can a current transducer measure DC current?

Yes. The Pixsys PTA-T-1PH transducers use the Hall effect, so they measure AC/DC current as True RMS or bipolar DC, which also shows the direction of a DC current, for example charging or discharging a battery.

How do these devices connect to a PLC or SCADA?

The PTA-M-3PH-050-ET network analyzer offers Modbus RTU over RS485 and Modbus TCP, HTTP and MQTT over Ethernet and Wi-Fi. The current transducers output 0–10 V with RS485 Modbus RTU (VT models) or a loop-powered 4–20 mA signal (LP models).
