Static Probe Housings for pH Sensors

Fixed housings for mounting pH and analysis sensors in pipes and vessels.

View Products

A static probe housing mounts a pH, conductivity or optical sensor permanently in a pipe or tank, the simplest and lowest-cost option where the process can be stopped for service. Exner's EXstatic 310 to 340 cover G 1¼" and NPT threads, TriClamp, hygienic and angled connections, all rated to 10 bar and 140 °C.

Static Probe Housings for pH Sensors Guide

What a static probe housing is used for

A static probe housing holds a pH, conductivity or optical sensor permanently in a pipe or tank wall, in a fixed position that doesn't retract. It's the simplest and lowest-cost way to mount a sensor, and the right choice whenever the process can be shut down or bypassed for the few minutes it takes to clean or calibrate. All EXstatic housings take a standard 12 mm sensor of 120 mm length and are rated to 10 bar and 140 °C.

How to choose a static probe housing

  • Process connection: the EXstatic 310 uses a G 1¼" thread for DN25 weld-in sockets, the 311 has a TriClamp connection, and the 340 is a universal holder for ¾" or 1" NPT sockets.
  • Hygienic design: for EHEDG or 3-A connections, choose the 312 (straight) or 315 (15° angled, with TriClamp, Varivent or Neumo BioControl).
  • Bubble-prone media: the 315's 15° angle keeps air bubbles from settling on the sensor tip.
  • Material: most EXstatic housings are 316L stainless steel; the 340 is also available in PVDF or PP for corrosive media.
  • Protection: housings can be supplied with or without a sensor protection cage for rough handling areas.

For service without stopping the process, see manual retractable housings.

FAQ

Common questions

What is a static probe housing used for?

It mounts a pH, conductivity or optical sensor in a fixed position in a pipe or tank. It's the simplest and lowest-cost way to hold a sensor, suited to processes you can stop or bypass for the short time it takes to clean or calibrate, rather than continuous unattended monitoring.

Which Exner static housing suits a TriClamp connection?

The EXstatic 311 has a standard TriClamp connection. The EXstatic 315 also offers TriClamp, plus Varivent or Neumo BioControl options, on a 15° angled body for hygienic lines where bubbles could otherwise collect on the sensor.

Why is the EXstatic 315 angled at 15 degrees?

The angle keeps air bubbles from collecting on the sensor tip, which would otherwise interfere with a pH or conductivity reading. It's built for hygienic process lines, with TriClamp, Varivent or Neumo BioControl connections to EHEDG or 3-A design.

Can a static probe housing be used in plastic pipework?

Yes. The EXstatic 340 is a universal holder for ¾" or 1" NPT sockets, available in stainless steel, PVDF or PP, so it can be fitted into plastic as well as metal pipework and vessels.

What sensor size does a static probe housing take?

All EXstatic models accept a standard 12 mm sensor of 120 mm length, rated up to 10 bar and 140 °C. Tell us your existing sensor's dimensions and we'll confirm compatibility before you order.

Is a hygienic static probe housing available for food or dairy lines?

Yes. The EXstatic 312 and 315 have EHEDG or 3-A approved process connections, built for cleanable, crevice-free mounting in food, beverage and dairy processing where hygiene standards apply.
