CO2 tells you about ventilation for the people in a room, but it doesn't capture everything. VOCs from cleaning products, furniture, printers and cooking can build up even when few people are present. Measuring them lets the BMS ventilate for the air people actually breathe.

Why measure VOC as well as CO2?
VOCs come from materials and activities, not just people, so they can rise when CO2 is low. Measuring both gives better ventilation control.
Should I use a room or a duct VOC sensor?
Room sensors for individual spaces; the ILK duct sensor for an average of the area an air handling unit serves.
