Temperature Transmitters
Head-mount, DIN-rail and field temperature transmitters for industrial processes and buildings.
A temperature transmitter converts an RTD or thermocouple signal into a 4 to 20 mA loop a PLC or SCADA system can read over a long cable run. This page covers Pixsys head-mount transmitters, a Shinko DIN-rail transmitter, and Produal field transmitters for immersion, duct, cable and outdoor sensors. For a version with a display, see the digital temperature switch.

Temperature Transmitters Guide
How a temperature transmitter works
The transmitter reads the resistance from an RTD or the voltage from a thermocouple and outputs a linear 4 to 20 mA signal proportional to temperature. A head-mount transmitter sits inside the sensor head in the field, so the long cable run carries a stable 4 to 20 mA signal instead of a millivolt-level sensor signal. A DIN-rail transmitter sits in the panel, away from process heat and vibration, and takes the raw sensor cable instead.
How to choose a temperature transmitter
- Location: choose head-mount (Pixsys) when the sensor is far from the panel, or DIN-rail (Shinko) when the sensor cable run is short and the panel is close.
- Input type: the Pixsys head-mount transmitter fits a DIN B sensor head and takes Pt100, Pt1000, Ni100 or thermocouple input on a 2-wire 4 to 20 mA loop.
- Set-up: the head-mount transmitter is programmed by NFC, without needing power, which is useful for pre-configuring spares. An isolated version is available where galvanic isolation matters.
- Multiple inputs: the Shinko DIN-rail transmitter is a compact 22.5 mm wide multi-input unit with high sampling speed and an optional Modbus output.
- Ready-made field sensors: Produal supplies matched transmitter versions of its immersion, duct, cable and outdoor sensors, so you don't have to pair a separate transmitter yourself.
- Hygienic process: the Seli weld-in sleeve system suits aseptic applications where the sensor has to be welded into the pipe.

FAQ
Common questions
What does a temperature transmitter do that a sensor alone can't?
A bare RTD or thermocouple gives a resistance or millivolt signal that degrades over long cable runs and needs a compatible input card. A transmitter converts that signal into a standard 4 to 20 mA loop close to the sensor, so it travels reliably to a PLC or SCADA system over any distance.
Should I choose a head-mount or a DIN-rail temperature transmitter?
Choose head-mount when the sensor is far from the control panel: it converts the signal right at the sensor head, so the long cable carries a stable 4 to 20 mA loop. Choose DIN-rail when the panel is close by, keeping the electronics away from process heat and vibration.
Can a temperature transmitter take both RTD and thermocouple inputs?
The Pixsys head-mount transmitter accepts Pt100, Pt1000, Ni100 or thermocouple input in the same unit, fitted inside a DIN B sensor head. You choose the input type when you configure it by NFC. The Shinko DIN-rail transmitter is also multi-input, with an optional Modbus output for panel integration.
Do you supply temperature transmitters for aseptic or hygienic process lines?
Yes. The Seli temperature sensor with a weld-in sleeve system is built for aseptic applications, where the sensor assembly is welded directly into the pipe or vessel rather than fitted through a threaded pocket. Tell us the process connection and we'll confirm the matching sleeve.
How is a Pixsys head-mount transmitter configured?
It's programmed by NFC, tapping a phone or programmer against the transmitter without needing external power. That makes it easy to set the range and input type on the bench before installation, or to reconfigure a spare quickly. An isolated version is available where the loop needs galvanic isolation.
