HVAC Room Temperature Sensors Overview
Room temperature sensors tell the BMS how warm or cool each space actually is, so heating and cooling respond to the room, not to a guess.
Produal room sensors
- TEHR: a Pt1000 room sensor, 0 to 50 °C, ±0.3 °C at 0 °C. Surface-mounted or on a flush-mounting box.
- RS-PT1000: a passive Pt1000 room sensor in a modern plastic housing with a smooth snap-on cover, -30 to 70 °C, ±0.3 °C at 0 °C. Surface or flush-box mounting.
Installation tips
- Mount on an inside wall at about 1.5 m, where it sees the room's typical temperature
- Keep away from direct sun, radiators, lights and supply air diffusers
- Seal the cable entry so wall-cavity air doesn't affect the reading
