About this industry
Power Overview
A power plant has to run steadily around the clock, and an unplanned trip costs generation. Boiler draft, water chemistry, fuel flow and the health of rotating equipment all need reliable measurement. We supply measurement and control products for each area of the plant, from the coal yard to the switchyard.
Coal and fuel handling
Bunkers, silos and hoppers hold coal, fly ash and limestone. Vibrating fork, vibrating rod, rotating paddle and admittance level switches detect high and low levels in dusty solids, and radar, capacitance and ultrasonic level transmitters give a continuous reading. On conveyors and transfer points, chute jam, pendulum and boot level switches stop blockages before they spill. A stroke monitoring sensor from Hauber checks that vibrating screens and feeders keep their set stroke.
Boiler, draft and combustion air
Furnace draft and combustion air flow decide how well the boiler burns its fuel. Draft pressure transmitters and differential pressure switches from Beck and Halstrup-Walcher measure these low pressures reliably. Pitot tubes, Wilson flow grids, vortex probes and air flow and velocity transmitters measure primary air, secondary air and flue gas flow in large ducts. Pressure transmitters and pressure switches from Trumen and Beck cover steam, water and oil lines.
Water and steam chemistry
Boiler feed water, condensate and cooling water have to stay within tight limits to prevent scaling and corrosion. pH, conductivity and multi-parameter analysers from Chemitec, with conductivity cells, dissolved oxygen sensors and turbidity sensors, monitor the water cycle. Free and total chlorine analysers help control cooling water dosing, and hydrostatic level transmitters measure tank and sump levels.
Turbines, fans, pumps and mills
Vibration sensors from Hauber watch ID and FD fans, boiler feed pumps, coal mills, motors and gearboxes, so bearing and balance problems show up before a breakdown. A portable vibration meter supports routine rounds.
Emissions and switchyard
Broken bag detectors and stack dust monitors from Auburn give an early warning when filter bags or ESP performance drop. In the switchyard and switchgear rooms, busbar temperature monitoring from Calex spots hot joints before they fail, and humidity and temperature transmitters from Produal watch control and panel rooms.
Control and plant networks
Process and PID controllers and digital indicators from Shinko, remote I/O modules and Modbus and PROFINET protocol converters from Pixsys connect field instruments to the plant DCS.
We supply these brands across India from Ahmedabad and help with product selection and after-sales support.

FAQ
Common questions
Which level switch works best in a coal bunker?
For coal, fly ash and other dusty solids, vibrating rod, rotating paddle and admittance level switches are the usual choices, since they tolerate build-up. For a continuous level reading, a guided wave radar level transmitter is used. Tell us the material, bunker height and mounting point and we will suggest a model.
Why measure furnace draft in a boiler?
Furnace draft affects combustion, fuel use and safety. If it drifts positive, hot gas can leak out of the furnace. Low-range draft pressure transmitters keep the ID and FD fans balanced.
Which water parameters should a power plant monitor?
Conductivity, pH and dissolved oxygen in feed water and condensate, and pH, conductivity, chlorine and turbidity in cooling water are the common ones. We can suggest sensors and analysers for each sampling point.
How does busbar temperature monitoring work?
Small non-contact infrared sensors are mounted to view busbar joints and connections. They measure temperature continuously and raise an alarm when a joint runs hot, which usually means a loose or corroded connection.
Can these instruments connect to our plant DCS?
Yes. Most transmitters give a 4–20 mA output, many support Modbus, and our remote I/O modules and protocol converters link field devices to your control system.
