Pressure Switches & Transmitters
Pressure and differential pressure transmitters, switches, gauges and calibrators for process and HVAC.
Pressure instruments protect equipment, prove that fans and pumps are running, show when filters need changing and hold processes at set points. This page covers our full pressure range: transmitters, differential pressure transmitters and switches, draft transmitters, gauges, and portable manometers and calibrators from Beck, Halstrup-Walcher, Produal, Trumen and Pixsys.

Selection guide
Pressure Switches & Transmitters Guide
Transmitter, switch or gauge?
Pick the type that matches what you need from the reading:
- Transmitter: gives a continuous signal, so you can display, trend or control the pressure.
- Switch: gives a single on/off contact at a set point, for a simple alarm or interlock, with no power supply needed.
- Digital gauge: sits between the two, a local display plus, on some models, an analogue output for a BMS.
- Draft, vacuum and gas applications: need instruments built for their own ranges and media rather than a general-purpose transmitter.
Choosing pressure instruments by job
- Process pressure line: measure the value with pressure transmitters, or trip an alarm with pressure switches.
- Sealed or closed system: reference a vacuum with absolute pressure transducers, or reference the atmosphere with barometric pressure transducers.
- Filters, fans and ducts: monitor differential pressure with differential pressure transmitters or differential pressure switches.
- Furnace, boiler or kiln draft: the very low ranges need a dedicated draft pressure transmitter.
- Gas burners and trains: a gas pressure switch trips the burner control outside limits.
- Vacuum lifters and pumps: an adjustable vacuum pressure switch alarms when vacuum is lost.
- Local display at a panel or door: read the value on a differential pressure gauge, or feed a control loop with a differential pressure & flow controller.
- Combined transmitter, display and switch: the digital electronic pressure switch replaces a gauge and mechanical switch in one unit.
- Site checks and calibration: carry a digital portable manometer for quick readings, or a portable low pressure controller to calibrate installed instruments.

FAQ
Common questions
What is the difference between gauge, absolute and differential pressure?
Gauge pressure is measured against the surrounding atmosphere, which is what most industrial transmitters give. Absolute pressure is measured against a perfect vacuum, used in closed systems and vacuum processes. Differential pressure is the difference between two points, for example across a filter, fan or heat exchanger, and drives most HVAC and filter-monitoring instruments.
Should I choose a pressure transmitter or a pressure switch?
Choose a transmitter when you need the actual value continuously, for display, trending or control. Choose a switch when you only need an alarm or interlock at one set point, with no wiring back to a PLC input card. Several of our ranges, such as the Beck 901 and 930, come in both forms.
Which output signal should I choose for a pressure instrument?
4 to 20 mA holds up best over long cable runs and is the standard input for PLCs and DCS systems. 0 to 10 V is common in building automation panels. Several Produal and Beck models also offer Modbus RTU, which suits BMS integration without extra wiring.
Do you supply pressure instruments for hazardous areas?
Yes. Beck supplies ATEX pressure switches and differential pressure switches for zones 1, 2, 21 and 22. Flameproof pressure and differential pressure transmitters, for zones needing Ex d protection, are listed separately in our ATEX & Flameproof category.
How do I measure very low draft pressure in a furnace or boiler?
Use a dedicated draft pressure transmitter, built for ranges of a few pascals rather than the wider spans of a standard transmitter. Our Halstrup-Walcher P 26, P 29, PS17 and PS27, and the Beck 985, cover unidirectional and bidirectional draft ranges from 10 Pa upward, for furnaces, boilers and kilns.
What's the difference between a pressure calibrator and a manometer?
A portable manometer only measures pressure, so you still need a separate way to generate it. A calibrator, such as our Halstrup-Walcher KAL series, generates the test pressure itself and measures it precisely, so you can check an instrument at several points on site without external equipment.
